Borrowing and lending

The Reuse Centre wants to help residents of the metropolitan area do easy little services for the environment. We borrow dishes, cargo bikes, and trailers to residents.

New cargo bikes for our customers to use

The Reuse Centre borrows cargo bikes to its customers for transporting items. There is one bike at every store: at Hietalahti, Kyläsaari, Koivukylä, and Matinkylä. With this new service, we want to encourage our customers to use ecological transportation and to assist customers who do not have cars.

You can borrow one of the bicycles free of charge, in exchange for a 50 euro deposit, for five hours at a time, including but not limited to transporting Reuse Centre items. The cargo bikes have an 88 X 62 X 50 cm box at the front, into which you can fit for example a few chairs or a television set.

Borrow a trailer free of charge!

It is always a challenge to move house and to transport items, especially if you have to stuff your belongings into a small car. The Reuse Centre provides, free of charge, trailers with canopies to residents of the metropolitan area.

Though the trailers are free, you must leave a 50 euro deposit when borrowing one. You also need to provide a vehicle license for the car pulling the trailer and a driving license when borrowing the trailer. You can borrow the trailer for one business day, which is to say you must return the trailer in good condition, on the same day you borrowed it, to the same store before closing time. You can borrow a trailer once per week.

Borrow non-disposable dishes for parties and other occasions – return unwashed!

Using non-disposable dishes is more ecologically friendly than using disposable ones. You can borrow non-disposable dishes from us in exchange for a deposit and a washing fee. You do not need to wash them yourself. The washing fee is 5 euros for every 50 dishes, rounding up. We also keep a deposit until the dishes are returned: 10 euros for every 50 dishes, rounding up. You must borrow a minimum of 20 dishes of the same kind. Please book at least two weeks before the date you intend to borrow the dishes. Any possible changes to the booking must also be made two weeks in advance.

• Plastic dessert plates
• Plastic shallow plates
• Plastic deep plates
• 0.4 l plastic beer glasses
• 0.3 l plastic drinking glasses
• Champagne glasses and
• Cutlery

The cutlery and some of the champagne glasses are not all of the same set.

You can borrow the dishes for three days. We charge 2 euros/pc for broken or missing dishes, except 0.50 euros/pc for cutlery. If necessary, the Reuse Centre can also deliver dishes to the location of the event in the metropolitan area in exchange for a fee of 30-35 euros/one direction.
